Jennifer Fidler

Biography

Jennifer Fidler was born on June 19, 1970, in Mobile, Alabama, and raised on her family’s farm in Baldwin County. From an early age, she embraced hard work and responsibility—selling produce at the family farmstand before she turned 16, and delivering to Pensacola markets as a teenager. A 1988 graduate of Robertsdale High School, Jennifer continued her education at Faulkner State Junior College and earned a degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Auburn University in 1992.

At just 22, Jennifer began her career in public service as the first arborist and horticulturist for the City of Eufaula, where she established and led the city’s first horticulture and arboriculture program. She later earned a Master’s degree in Education from Troy State University in Phenix City in 2001.

Jennifer’s leadership and passion for agriculture and community development were recognized through her selection to the Rotary Club’s Group Study Exchange program to Argentina in 1998 and the Alabama Agricultural Leaders program in 1999, where she traveled both nationally and internationally. She also served on the board of the Alabama Urban Forestry Association, culminating in her term as President from 2001 to 2002.

Over her 16-year tenure, she oversaw streets, construction, landscaping, horticulture, and sanitation. Her service extended to the Alabama Public Works Association, where she also served as President. During this time, she completed a three-year program at Faith Bible Institute, graduating in 2011, and served on the City of Fairhope Planning Commission from 2007 to 2017. In 2017, she transitioned to the Baldwin County Eastern Shore Metropolitan Planning Organization. After more than 25 years of distinguished service in local government, Jennifer retired in 2018.

That same year, she launched Fidler Consulting, a design firm dedicated to supporting small towns and municipalities with landscape planning and expertise. In 2020, she began serving as an advisor with the national America in Bloom program, continuing her commitment to thriving, beautiful communities.

Jennifer is married to Reagan Scroggins and is an active member of Grace Fellowship Church in Fairhope, Alabama.
