Donations can be accepted until March 7, 2023 to eliminate campaign debt. Â We have approximately $33,000 in campaign debt. Â Campaign debt is defined as documented in kind debt incurred during the campaign. Â It also includes debt that the campaign owed for services and goods before November 8, 2022 that were not billed until after November 8, 2022. Â because they were not billed for the campaign expenditure. Â This can also include in kind contributions during the campaign that have not been repaid.
Today, as a country we stand united in honoring and remembering those who lost their lives in service to their country.

The tax cut will affect the SNAP definition of food. It will be a cut over four years, as long as we receive an increase of revenue in the Education Trust Fund. The state charges four percent on tax groceries. Your city and Baldwin county charge the extra percentages.
The Education Trust Fund is funded by sales tax and income tax. We must have enough sales and income tax to pay our teachers, administrators, schools, school building maintenance, and anything education related. We have had a carryover of funds large enough for us to seriously consider giving this money back to the people as long as the revenues keep growing.Your Alabama House approved the Grocery Tax Cut to save hard-working Alabama families money at the register! ... Highlights this week:
Several local political leaders and I got to see firsthand on Monday how the University of South Alabama sends its fishery research to the federal level, which is vital in determining the fishing limits for red snapper and other gamefish.
The Alabama Forestry Association put on its Women in Forestry event this week and it was an honor to get to attend.
In the House, we passed several bills honoring our military branches and recognized members who have served in our nation’s armed forces. ... See MoreSee Less

On Thursday Mornings we have a prayer breakfast at 7 am. Different pastors volunteer and travel to speak and pray with us while in session. This morning Briarwood Senior Pastor HARRY REEDER provided a beautiful message. The passage of scripture is below. On his way home he was involved in an automobile crash and passed away. My prayers go to his family, church family and the many lives he has touched while in ministry. ... See MoreSee Less

So glad there are prayers being said. So sorry for his family.
Praying for peace and strength for his family.
FYI. HB502 was dropped yesterday afternoon. It calls for a 'general oversight and maintenance' of navigational aids (buoys) by ALEA for navigational aids in state waters that are not maintained by Federal means (coast guard, Corps). It ONLY applies to salt and brackish waters. I'm working with ALEA / Coast Guard to make sure they are good with regulatory language in the bill. It follows/ and is similar to Florida law.
I hope Chairman Brown, Chairman of Ports and Waterways, will take it up in committee next week.
If you see any issues, please let me know.
